Dear all,

I just ran a few systems with 'Points only" and "100% of Initial Equity". Without going too much into detail, when using "points only" then the system executes all the signals, however when using "100% of Initial Equity" then some signals are left out.

It's exactly the same system in both test cases.

Anyone experienced this as well?

Many thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Raphael

The difference is more likely due to price changes between the time an order is placed and when it is executed. Therefore the order gets cancelled. Example:

Buy at next Open
Close Price: 500
Equity: 50,000
Units (calculated by Metastock): 100

Open next bar
Open Price: 505

You don't have enough equity to buy @ 505 anymore, so the order gets cancelled.

The easiest solution would be to backward reference you rules by one bar and execute at the current open instead of executing at the next open. That way Metastock will use the open price to calculate the number of units rather than the closing price. This is what I always do now, and I never get this problem anymore. This is mentioned in more detail in Sprunger's Guide to the Enhanced System Tester.
