I cant seem to save my charts and its rather annoying!

For example in saving a smart chart it comes up with "Smart chart alreay exists, replace existing smart chart?" which I reply yes to, then it comes up with "failed to save document". If I hit save again straight away it then says " C164 Unable to register document, document may already be open"...It seems to save templates ok.

I recently reinstalled windows xp and its only happened since then. Before then it was fine. Ive reinstalled metastock but with no success.

Any clues ???

Perhaps you don't have Write/Modify access to the location where you have your data.

Try right clicking on the folder structure you keep your data in and ensure that Read Only isn't ticked and, if there is a security tab, ensure you have Modify access to that folder.

I've seen this once before when a user backed up his data to a CD/DVD then copied it back... however, since a CD/DVD is read-only, it retained that attribute.
