I'm facing the same error very frequently in the system tester. The tester stops and I got the below error message:
An error occurred in System tester
Description: Invalid argument.
Build: 10.1
File: ST_RecordsetIterator.cpp
Line: 259
Error Type: 0
Error Code: 2
Is there a bug in the tester? What should I do in order to avoid?

The case is solved by help of Equis support by the following actions:
I recommend exporting (using the Organizer) all your custom or modified formulas to a new folder. Then in the MetaStock program folder, delete any file in there name st_data. There could be two, but usually only one. Also, delete the Results folder.
Reinstall MetaStock.
In case you need it.
