Norton system works found 10 problems with exe files, clicked on fix and they were still there, had to download a dll and place it into the system file, then run win doctor again to find and fix. The pc still acts up. I close metastock and I can no longer connect to the internet, have to reboot. Had to go to msconfig and clean out the start up

System Works found the errors before or after the problems with MetaStock connecting to the internet? I'm thinking about upgrading my laptop [with .net framework 2.0]... just to see what will happen... but if it is inevitable trouble, I'll stand clear.

all of the problems started after I updated the netframework patch. i was getting logged off the internet after closing Metastock, i was getting other errors, slow performance and thing like that so I ran Norton and then came up with 10 errors, I can't remember te exact dll. I googled the missing dll, found a web site for missing dll's and downloaded it into the system file

Ok H- I took the plunge and installed net2 with QC/MS9.1 and things seem to be working. I'm using XP Media Center on the concerned computer. I will have to check out all of the functions closely, but connection and superficial functions all seem to be working OK. I'm not using your utilities, but it sounds like you didn't run them until after the problems started. Not sure what happened on your end. Anyway, this is my experience regarding your original question.
