Well... I read that the Louisiana Dept of Wildlife and Fisheries is helping to evac some of the patients from flooded hospitals. I thought OMG! "yes, ma'am; we need you to sign here so that we can transfer you and your baby via airboat across the river to another hospital"... now who in their right mind would want the game warden responsible for their health care? What happens if there's a boating accident? Aren't these the guys that check to make sure you have a valid hunting license?! :smt105 I'd wait for the BK-117! Thanks anyway! 8:-)

The tool of a real transport team! Sorry, don't have a way to scan my pre-digital photos of the past, but the BK-117 Eurocopter is awesome, if somewhat outdated. Hmm.. airboat vs air transport. :-k :smt042

I got a letter today from an associate in New Orleans. He said that the Tulane NICU evacuated using Blackhawk helicopters (16 onboard) and the big Chinook helicopters (56 onboard). No deaths during the transport of 376 babies. Now that's awesome! :smt059

Today a friend told me about some idiot sniper trying to shoot Bell South engineers off of the line poles in New Orleans. He's retired now after 38 years with Bell South, but to hear him tell stories of weather catastrophes of the past and the work that is required to recover these areas really makes you think about the unsung 'heroes'... I understand that there are literally millions of rerouted connections in progress... that's amazing. Stellar job guys and gals!
