I'm back testing my rules in Metastock based on end of day data for a group of stocks traded on NASDAQ & NYSE. I have data back to 1985. I'm keen to see the results of my rules over a longer period. Does anyone know of a data provider who supplies pre 1985 data?

try www.prophet.net
they've got data going back all the way to 1978 for the nasdaq composite (no volume data pre-sept. 1984) and 1920 for the dow 30 (no volume pre-1990).

I just ordered a CD containing nyse, nasdaq & amex stock data dating back to 1968 from prophet. Just what I was after.
Jose,
I contacted premiumdata - their historical data starts at 1985 - which is what all other data providers that I've researched appear to have - except prophet!

PS ... if anyone ever finds a data provider that supplies nyse and/or nasdaq end of day stock data prior to 1968, please submit a reply to this post with the details.
