Hi,

I have 2000 symbols with metastock database. I would like to extract some symbols as sector to analysis.

How I do it ? Or I have to download those symbols again to form another database.

May be my question is messy.

My situation, I have all End of day Metastock data in one folder. But I want to use fire utilities to analysize the stock group data. Thus I need to copy part of symbols to another folder. I find similar solution using downloader copy symobls to another folder, but it cannot synchonize each other.

THX help

Hi,

Unfortunately there is not a way to do this (outside updating each individual folder). In newer versions, we replaced Favorites with a more robust List system, but even then FIRE was designed specifically around reading data from particular local data folders.

This is something we will look at going forward as we develop new analytical tools within MetaStock.
