I am trying to add CSV offline data to the offline instruments through the Power Console.  When I browse to the data folder no files are shown.

I have checked the data file.  It has headers.

What do I need to do?

 TIA!

Hi, The individual files will not show in the Add Folder dialogue. Basically once you are pointing at the proper folder, simply click the "Select Folder" button. However, if after doing this no securities show up in your list, then we would probably need to take a look at one of them to see what might be happening. Copy/pasting the header and a few lines of data should hopefully give us an idea where the process is failing.

"Select Folders" is greyed out. (Sorry - forgot to mention that - that's the rub after all...)

Hi, are you certain you are not referring to the "Select All" button? Either way if you are on the dialogue I think you're on, the symbols should be showing up. If they are not, the problem is more than likely related to the data formatting. As per your other post, if you want to try and Copy/Paste some of the data we might be able to see very quickly where the process is failing. For example: <date>,<ticker>,<per>,<open>,<high>,<low>,<volume>,<close> 2/1/2017,IBM,D,48.93,49.810001,48.68,22446,49.259998 2/2/2017,IBM,D,48.880001,49.00,48.470001,13522,48.900002

How you found out that it doesn't recognise the CSV files?

Hi,

We added a note for this in DownLoader 15 (we need to add a note to the MetaStock Help file as well) but basically, if you are converting multiple instruments within a single CSV file, you must also specify <PER> (Periodicity) Column. If the data is all Daily, you would just put a D for this value.

I can't determine if you already have a header within your CSV data, but this is required for DownLoader to recognize the data.
