Hi all,

I cannot "apply a clean template". The msg Error opening file pops up. It seems all nearby buttons are disabled (sympbol utility, apply popular template...) as the same msg appears. I have Metastock 11 EOD on a Windows with IE 10

I am thinking of reinstalling Meta. How to do it? Need to uninstall it first? Need to save some files before ?

Thank you for your help.

Cheers,

Fiorenzo

Are you attempting to apply the Clean.MWT from the Custom Toolbar at the bottom of MetaStock? Are you able to simply right-click on a chart and choose Apply Template this way?

I do not think reinstalling will help, but when you uninstall MetaStock, your custom files should not be removed.

YES. I DID NOT know you could do it this way...

Also, there is a shield like symbol with yellow and blue colors on the Metastock icon.

Does anybody know what that means ?

Thank you.

If that Apply Template method worked, the problem could be something affected the Custom Toolbar buttons. Re-mapping them might be necessary to get a more permanent fix for you although you can certainly use the method I mentioned as well.

Our program does access fairly sensitive portions of the operating system by design (i.e. modifications to our registry keys, etc). This shield essentially tells you that Windows is going to ask you for permission to run the application. This is in part a security design feature of Windows to prevent potentially malicious software from making changes to your system without you realizing it (User Account Control).
