Previous PC, window XP 32bit. New PC, window 7 64bit. I had download the program and it says" unable to write to hard disk" when i open it up. Then i open up the license manager and unable to initialize the media. What went wrong?

If you have not done so, please contact Technical Support. There are updates to the licensing software but they are not posted on our web site because they are version specific. Downloading and installing the wrong one can cause more issues than it resolves

Hi

I seem to have the same problem. After using 10.1 for 7 years without a problem I had forgotten that it was restricted by archaic security mechanisms.

The old hard disk failed and tried loading to new disk (did this on Friday so that I had the weekend to get it working) and new disk gave error -84 and wont start MS. I am assuming this is an activation problem???

Tried MS support but they close down over weekend - second mistake.

Is MS support the only option

A bit concerned as I have open trades

Thanks for any help

Ian

Hi,

Did you install from a CD or a download? 10.1c should have resolved this message, so we would first want to make sure you are on the latest version of MetaStock 10.1.
